Every member of the Little Roots team has cleared enhanced background checks, is Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified, and completes yearly and ongoing IdahoSTARS training. Because the people caring for your child should be held to the highest standard. Always.
Your peace of mind is not an afterthought here. It is built into everything we do.
We ask that you keep your child home if they have a fever over 100 degrees or show any signs of illness. If a child becomes ill during the school day, parents will be contacted and asked to pick up their child promptly. Children may not return to school until they have been fever and symptom free for a full 24 hours, or have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours. We have specific policies in place for conditions like Pink Eye and Head Lice as well. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions about any of these policies.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Little Roots Academy has a comprehensive Emergency Disaster Plan in place, which includes designated evacuation areas we have pre-approved consent to use in the event of a disaster. Our team is trained and prepared so that in any situation, your child is cared for calmly, quickly, and safely. We also conduct regular fire drills so our students and staff are always ready.
Yes, we can administer medication on a case by case basis. All medication administration is handled in accordance with the signed forms completed during enrollment and in compliance with Idaho state childcare licensing requirements.
During the enrollment process we assess each child's individual needs on a case by case basis. All allergies and medical needs are thoroughly documented, and every child who requires it will have a completed Medication Administration form and an Authorization for Medical Treatment form on file before their first day. We are also proud to be a completely nut free facility for the safety and peace of mind of all our families.
The safety of your child starts the moment you pull into our parking lot. Our building has a controlled access point of entry, meaning every parent must have a secure code to enter the school. We also use the Brightwheel app for checking children in and out, so you always have a clear and convenient record of your child's arrivals and departures right from your phone.
Absolutely. Every member of our team completes enhanced background checks, holds Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications, and participates in ongoing IdahoSTARS professional development to stay current in early childhood education best practices. We hold our team to the highest standard because your child deserves nothing less.
We are proud to maintain a low student to teacher ratio that goes above and beyond Idaho state guidelines. Every classroom at Little Roots is staffed with two dedicated teachers, keeping our ratio well below the state standard of 1 teacher to 12 students. We believe that more attentive, present adults in the room means more connection, more learning, and more moments where every child feels truly seen.
We would love to walk you through it! Head over to our contact page to schedule a tour and get started. We will guide you through every step of the process and make sure you and your family feel completely at home before day one.
Yes! Our classrooms for children ages 4 to 5 are specifically designed as kindergarten preparation programs. We focus on building the academic skills, classroom confidence, and independence your child needs to walk into kindergarten ready, excited, and prepared to shine.
